Ficocella beach, a small but very popular beach near Palinuro, was closed to the public following a landslide that compromised its safety. Subsequently, restoration and safety works were carried out on the area, aimed at the controlled reopening of the site. The reopening took place with the introduction of specific preventive measures, including the requirement for continuous monitoring of the slope. This monitoring activity was entrusted to the Land Sentinel system by InSensus Project, used to monitor changes in stability conditions over time.
Continuous monitoring via Land Sentinel is a key element in ensuring the long-term safety of the beach, allowing for constant monitoring of stability conditions and enabling the area to be used in a way that provides greater protection for visitors.
