The Anvera 42 is a motorboat built with carbon fibre structures, designed to ensure high rigidity, weight reduction and optimisation of structural loads whilst underway. The monitoring system was installed on the bottom of the hull to measure the longitudinal and transverse stresses induced during sailing, with the aim of analysing the structural behaviour and optimising the boat’s design. The sensors were also used for laboratory testing of the materials employed. The aim of the project was to monitor the structural stresses on the hull in real time whilst underway, in order to validate the design assumptions and support design optimisation.
The monitoring provided a quantitative characterisation of the longitudinal and transverse stresses, offering objective insights into the vessel’s structural behaviour under real operating conditions.
